Yucca Ablaze in Sunlight

I thought this abstract representation deserved some explanation. This is a yucca bloom- an agave/succulent plant that grows in semi-arid areas. There are many in my area, and they are all in bloom right now. They have a gorgeous crown/cluster of waxy, edible flowers. It's this cluster that you are looking at in the shaft of sunlight.
I've eaten yucca blooms in a salad before. I must say that they taste better when marinated, since they don't have much taste of their own. But, they have nice water content, and if stranded in the desert, they can provide some water, and perhaps some nutrients, too.
This image is part of my annual Urban Yucca Series, here.
